Willa Fitzgerald was born on January 17, 1991, in Nashville, Tennessee, United States. She pursued her education at the Harpeth Hall School, a private college-preparatory institution for girls in Nashville, graduating in 2009. Following her high school education, Fitzgerald attended Yale University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in theater studies in 2013. Her professional acting career commenced with a film role as Vivian in “For the Love of a Dog” in 2008. In 2013, she made her television debut as Lola Laffer in “Alpha House.” The following year, on April 23, 2014, Fitzgerald joined the cast of the USA Network series “Royal Pains” in a recurring role as Emma Miller. She also made guest appearances in episodic television productions such as “Blue Bloods,” “The Following,” and “Gotham.”

Fitzgerald’s theatrical experience includes performances in productions such as “Couple in the Kitchen,” “The Private Sector,” “Cow Play,” and “The Cat and the Canary.” In August 2016, she was cast in the film “Misfortune,” later released in October 2017 under the title “Blood Money.” In March 2017, Fitzgerald secured a starring role as Navy pilot Roxanne Daly in the Fox television pilot “Behind Enemy Lines,” although the pilot was not picked up for a series. In July 2017, she was cast as Meg in the miniseries “Little Women,” an adaptation of the classic novel. Later that year, in November 2017, Fitzgerald took on the lead role of Anya St. Clair in E!’s pilot “#Fashionvictim.” In December 2017, she was cast as Kitsey Barbour in the film adaptation of “The Goldfinch,” based on Donna Tartt’s Pulitzer Prize-winning book.

A significant milestone in Fitzgerald’s career is her role in the Amazon series “Reacher,” which premiered in 2022. Based on Lee Child’s book series, “Reacher” has achieved high viewership, bringing renewed attention to Fitzgerald’s work.
