Yan Birch

Yan Birch made his American feature film debut in Slumber Party Massacre III (1990), quickly following with The Runestone (1991). These early successes led to further international work, including a starring role in the Italian feature film Scrondo and appearances in Italian television shows. A pivotal moment came in 1991 when he was cast as ‘The Stairmaster’ in Wes Craven’s critically acclaimed horror film The People Under the Stairs, a role that established his distinctive presence within the genre. Concurrently, Birch secured steady roles in daytime television, appearing in popular soaps such as Santa Barbara and The Young and the Restless, where he showcased his range playing diverse characters from health club owners to mobsters.

Under this banner, he produced the television adaptation Mega Man for Fox Television in 1996. Further showcasing his producing acumen, he served as both producer and line producer for the feature film Essence of Echoes (2002), in which he also took on the main villain role, and for the MTV documentary Gone Soul Fishin’. In more recent years, Birch has continued to build upon his established career with roles in projects such as Ghost Rock (2003), Terror Tales, and Agramon’s Gate. His consistent work in cult horror and diverse television roles solidifies his reputation as a formidable talent in both performance and production, underscoring his appeal and versatility for future projects.
