Israeli dermatologist Yoram Harth is famous for co-inventing blue light acne vulgaris phototherapy and a home device used to reduce wrinkles. Harth co-founded the Israeli company Curelight in 1998 and developed ground breaking acne phototherapy therapy system Clearlight. Curelight went on to win Best Startup company of 2002 (Medical Devices) chosen by the Israeli Venture Capital Association. He has written numerous book chapters and papers and holds several patents, and has pioneered several other devices for dermatological treatment including patented inventions in the area of multi–wavelength phototherapy for Vitiligo and psoriasis. Formerly the Chief Medical Officer of Endymed Medical Ltd., he is now the medical director and founder of MDacne.
Harth followed his father into medicine and graduated from the Sackler School of Medicine in Tel Aviv University before receiving specialized Dermatology training at Rambam Medical School’s department of Dermatology in Haifa. The dermatologist went on to co-found Curelight in 1998 and Endymed Medical and Israeli company in 2007, which developed radiofrequency devices that could be used both at home and by professionals. Along with his colleagues he developed pioneering radiofrequency technology that allowed multiple aesthetic treatments such as painless skin tightening using 6 phase controlled generators. The company’s device was the first to be approved for home use facial wrinkle reduction by the FDA, and went on to win the 2013 Edison Product innovation award for 2013.
