Zalan Pekler

Zalan Pekler was born on February 8, 2000, in Komarom, Hungary. He began practicing shooting and competing in 2009, demonstrating an early aptitude for the sport. Over the years, Pekler has developed into a distinguished athlete, competing in events such as 10m Air Rifle and 50m Rifle 3 Positions. His career is marked by steady progression and notable achievements at both junior and senior levels, including participation in the Olympic Games and multiple World Cup victories. He has trained under personal coach Istvan Kisvardai and national coach Laszlo Szucsak,
Pekler’s competitive journey includes significant milestones. In 2018, he secured two silver medals at the World Championships in Changwon in 50m Rifle Prone Men Junior and 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men Junior categories. The same year, he earned a gold medal at the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team event, representing Mixed-NOCs. He has continued to excel, with a first-place finish at the World Cup Final in Doha in 2023 for 10m Air Rifle Men. His consistent performance led to his participation in the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics and the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, where he competed in various rifle events.

His achievements extend to European competitions, where he won a gold medal at the European Championships in Wroclaw in 2020 in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team Junior event. In 2023, he had a particularly strong showing at the European Games in Krakow, securing four gold medals across 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men, Air Rifle Team Men, 50m Rifle 3 Positions Team Men, and 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team. These performances highlight his versatility and skill across different rifle disciplines and team formats.
