Top DJ prides itself on being the world’s first TV talent show dedicated entirely to DJs and producers. The show will air on Italia 1 every Sunday and Monday evening for seven weeks. The series premiered on Sunday 29th May.
David Morales will use his wealth of experience and expertise as an internationally renowned DJ to offer Top DJ competitors advice and constructive criticism as they perform each week.
Joining Morales on the judging panel will be rapper-producer Gue Pequeno and experimental pop singer Syria. Italian DJ Tommy Vee will coach the 10 contestants as they progress through the competition’s stages. Radio 105 DJ Fabiola will be the competition’s ‘official voice’, critiquing the show.
During the competition, the aspiring DJs will be put through a series of tests, assessing their beatmaking, remixing, live mixing, synth playing and much more. Only three will reach the final, giving them the chance to be crowned ‘Top DJ’, and win an exclusive recording contract with Warner Music Italy.
Top DJ’s previous competitions have been hugely successful in bringing club music to national attention in Italy with use of social media (the #TOPDJ hashtag trends nationally during episodes, and the show’s official website is extremely popular) and partnerships with top brands including Nissan Juke and Samsung.
