House legend Parris Mitchell will host a special Rinse FM takeover in March, themed around his classic Dance Mania record label.
The Rinse FM show will feature a roster of 10 Dance Mania DJs, as chosen by Mitchell, Ray Barney, and DJ Deeon. The show will air March 17th on Rinse FM—106.8 MHz in London, and at rinse.fm worldwide.
Parris Mitchell founded Dance Mania in Chicago in 1985, with fellow house pioneers DJ Deeon, Jesse Saunders, Ray Barney, Paul Johnson, DJ Slugo, and Jammin Gerald. The label was instrumental in the rise of house music as an international movement, releasing many of the genre’s most influential and widely-played records. Dance Mania is responsible for some of the hardest jacking tracks from the 80s and 90s, as well as for laying the groundwork for acid house and deep house. Parris Mitchell himself released exclusively on the label throughout the 90s, shaping its sound and direction.
As well as featuring great music, the Rinse FM takeover will feature interviews with many of the DJs involved, including Parris, who will no doubt have some heady tales from Dance Mania’s early days.
Book Parris Mitchell now to bring the Dance Mania legend to your venue.
