Bridging the Gap Between Music Education and Global Release Opportunities
MN2S Label Services is proud to announce a new collaboration with Sound Collective, a leading music production and DJ institution dedicated to developing emerging talent. This partnership is designed to give students direct access to professional music distribution, helping bridge the gap between education and the global music industry.
For many aspiring artists, one of the biggest challenges after developing their sound is understanding how to release music professionally. While education provides the creative foundation, navigating distribution, rights management, and release strategy can often feel like a separate world. This collaboration aims to remove that barrier.
A Shared Vision for Artist Development
At its core, the partnership aligns closely with Sound Collective’s long-term mission. As Marketing Director Sam Rich explains:“Our long-term vision is to transform our students into working artists. To truly fulfill each student’s journey as a producer, they need the opportunity to share their creative projects beyond the classroom. We can teach the fundamentals of production, but we can’t build a global distribution network internally, so collaborating with MN2S for their label services was the obvious next step.”
From Classroom to Global Platforms
Through this collaboration, students at Sound Collective will be able to access MN2S Label Services’ global distribution network, empowering them to release their music on major platforms with the same level of professionalism as established artists. By integrating industry-level tools into the educational journey, students are not only learning how to make music, they are learning how to build sustainable careers from it.
Changing the Student Experience
The impact on students is expected to be immediate and transformative.“It answers a fundamental question many of us ask ourselves somewhere along the journey: ‘Now what?’” says Rich. “Students can now finish a program at Sound Collective with the next step already on the horizon of their artistic development: releasing their work and beginning to build a catalog. That changes the psychology of the whole experience and increases motivation. They’re now equipped with the resources to move out of the classroom and emerge as producing artists.”
Why Releasing Music Early Matters
A key aspect of the partnership is encouraging artists to release music while they are still developing their craft. “Artists can learn a lot by actually releasing a project,” Rich explains. “The feedback loop from an active audience interacting with a body of work lends insights that are incomparable to instructor feedback in a controlled setting. Beyond audience insights, releasing music publicly boosts confidence and serves as a motivational tool to keep pushing and improving through each subsequent release.”
Removing Barriers for Emerging Artists
For many young artists, the process of releasing music can feel opaque and difficult to navigate. This collaboration directly addresses that challenge. “This partnership gives Sound Collective access to the label infrastructure, which removes the perceived black box of record label processes,” Rich says. “Arming our students with the knowledge and ability to release their music, understand how rights and splits work, and see what a good rollout looks like builds a bridge between what Sound Collective does well and the next step in the process.”
Connecting Education with the Marketplace
The partnership also reflects a broader shift in music education.“Music production has a history of being taught as if releasing one’s work is someone else’s problem,” Rich notes. “That’s why so many talented producers never put anything out, or struggle to build a consistent release schedule. With MN2S’s help, we’re tying creative education to the music marketplace for the first time.”
The Importance of Understanding the Business
Understanding the business side of music is now more critical than ever for emerging artists.
“It’s essential,” says Rich. “Artists who only understand the creative side often end up dependent on others to handle the rest, which is unsustainable for a new artist who doesn’t yet have the reach to justify an internal team. MN2S gives our students access to that infrastructure while they’re still growing and learning.”
Redefining Success for Students
Ultimately, success for students is being redefined beyond simply completing a course.
“A student who leaves with a body of released work, a growing audience that connects with their music, and a clear understanding of how to keep the cycle going,” Rich explains. “Completing a course or program is just one step in the process. We want to help facilitate the jump from acquiring knowledge to publicly sharing one’s work.”
Built by Artists, for Artists
When MN2S Label Services began, it was driven not by a corporate plan but by a passion for music. What started with two brothers producing their own tracks has evolved into one of the world’s leading label service providers, trusted by hundreds of record labels and artists worldwide.“We were just making music for the love of it,” says Sharron Elkabas, CEO of MN2S. “But it was frustrating not having an outlet to get that music out there, not even for the money, but just to share it with people.”
The company’s beginnings reflect the challenges many independent artists face, turning creativity into exposure without industry connections or access to traditional distribution. Out of that frustration, MN2S Label Services was born, creating a platform designed to help others succeed where they once struggled.
By aligning creative education with real-world infrastructure, MN2S Label Services and Sound Collective are creating a more direct and accessible pathway for the next generation of artists, one where learning and launching a career happen side by side.
