BBC-Featured UK DJ and Producer THREEEYED Releases New Single
THREEEYED, known also as 3ID, is a BBC-featured DJ, producer, and the founder of Musicklabel, a label and creative universe built entirely on his own terms. His sound occupies a space that few artists have carved out with this level of intention: drum & bass, halftime, and what he describes as “myth-tech atmospherics”, music built around movement, geometry, and emotion. Not tracks, but transmissions. Not songs, but signals from somewhere else entirely.
“Everything I make is built around movement, geometry, and emotion,” he says. “Like sound designed for a world that doesn’t exist yet.”
That world-building instinct has been central to the Threeeyed project from the beginning, and his latest release, part of the Musicklabel Ascension Cycle, is the fullest expression of it yet.
Roots in UK Bass Culture
THREEEYED grew up obsessed with rhythm. Drums, patterns, anything that felt alive. When he found electronic music, specifically UK bass culture, it wasn’t a discovery so much as a recognition: a language he felt he already knew.
“The darker, more hypnotic side of DnB and experimental bass pulled me in because it felt like world-building, not just music.”
That distinction matters to him. World-building, not just music-making. It shapes everything: the way he produces, the way he presents his work, and the myth-tech universe he has been constructing around the Threeeyed name. The result is an artist whose releases feel like chapters in something larger, coherent, cinematic, and deeply intentional.
The Ascension Cycle
The new release is part of an ongoing body of work called the Musicklabel Ascension Cycle, a series of tracks conceived as signals from different “realms” within the myth-tech universe THREEEYED has built. This instalment captures the moment of awakening: tension, ignition, forward motion.
“It’s built around the idea of unlocking a new frequency,” he explains.
Compared to his previous work, this release marks a clear evolution. The low-end is engineered rather than simply mixed. The atmospheres are more cinematic. The groove is more hypnotic, less about aggression, more about what he calls possession. Every element has been stripped back to its most essential form, then sharpened.
“The challenge was restraint. I wanted to keep the track clean, intentional, and powerful, without over-building it.”
The standout moment in the production process came when the main motif finally locked in. “That feeling of ‘this is the realm’,” he says. His favourite element of the finished track is the drop, the cleanest expression of everything the release is trying to say. Heavy but spacious. Dark but controlled.
Sound Design as Architecture
For THREEEYED, the production process begins not with melody or harmony, but with energy. A rhythm. A pulse. A sense of movement. Everything else, atmospheres, textures, harmonic anchors, is built outward from that central force.
“I treat every track like a scene. Once the world exists, the arrangement writes itself.”
Key influences on this release include UK bass culture, ritual percussion, sci-fi sound design, and the visual language of Musicklabel itself: chrome, geometry, void-energy, and the Rule-of-Thirds doctrine that underpins the label’s aesthetic. These aren’t just reference points; they are the building materials of the Ascension Cycle.
Visuals, Glyphs, and the Myth-Tech World
The music does not exist in isolation. Tied to this release is the Ascension glyph, a visual emblem that forms part of the chrome-ritual aesthetic that runs through everything Musicklabel produces. The concept of “unlocking a new realm” is not metaphor; it is the literal framework around which the campaign, the artwork, and the release have been designed.
“The visuals are part of the story,” THREEEYED says simply.
That integration of sound and image, of music and mythology, is what sets the Threeeyed project apart from a standard artist release. This is not a single with a cover. It is an artefact from a universe, and one with plenty more to come.
What’s Next
The Ascension Cycle is ongoing. More releases from the Musicklabel roster are already in motion, alongside new myth-tech artefacts and a series of performance-driven mixes that will push the world-building further. THREEEYED describes his next phase as a deeper evolution of the sound: more refined, more cinematic, more precisely engineered.
For those coming to his music for the first time, the invitation is simple: “A sense of immersion, like they’ve stepped into another world for a few minutes.”
