Artist Spotlight: Twin Frequency | MN2S

Twin Frequency emerged from two distinct musical worlds: Emwhy Ello’s UK garage and vinyl DJ roots, and Benjii Cee’s punk-to-reggae evolution on Cornwall’s coast.

Their sound refuses to be pinned down, weaving together raw underground energy and polished production with a restless drive to redefine genres. This is a duo building complex narratives through rhythm, turning every release into a statement of identity and connection. Working with MN2S Label Services has amplified their reach while preserving their DIY ethos, setting the stage for bold new collaborations and a global push beyond conventional boundaries. After selling out a limited-edition run of their Dubsteppin’ EP – soon to be released on digital platforms – the sky’s the limit for Twin Frequency. We spoke to Emwhy and Benjii to find out more.

How did you get into music? What is your musical background?

Emwhy Ello: Music’s been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started learning vinyl mixing in the early 2000s with legends like DJ Bless, cutting my teeth on UK Garage, house, reggae, and R&B. Growing up in the UK scene gave me a deep love for open-format DJing — blending genres, reading the crowd, and always pushing boundaries.

Benjii Cee: For me, it started young, around 12 years old in Newquay, Cornwall. I was initially into punk and ska, but as I grew, reggae and electronic music captured my heart. I’ve always seen music as a way to bring people together — whether through underground scenes or big club nights. That DIY spirit still drives me.

Together, as Twin Frequency, we combine those roots into a fresh, dynamic energy — respecting heritage but always forward-looking.

Tell us about your first release – what was special about that one?

Our first release together was a moment of fusion — blending our different musical histories into a cohesive sound. It wasn’t just about dropping a track; it was about representing our journey and chemistry as a duo. That record symbolised the birth of Twin Frequency — raw, authentic, and true to our passion for rhythm and storytelling through sound.

Tell us about the latest project you worked on?

Our latest project taps into both nostalgia and innovation. We’ve been experimenting with blends of reggae-infused beats, UK garage rhythms, and house vibes — all polished with modern production techniques. The goal? To create music that moves bodies and souls, taking listeners on a journey between classic feels and fresh grooves. It’s about that perfect balance between energy and emotion.

Could you describe your musical style and creative vision?

Twin Frequency is all about genre fluidity. We love mixing UK Garage, reggae, house, and more — creating a sound that’s both familiar and unexpected. Our vision is to build experiences where music is the connector, breaking down barriers between scenes and generations. Whether live or in the studio, we focus on vibe, authenticity, and storytelling through beats.

What advice would you give to anyone thinking of entering the music industry?

Stay true to your sound, but be adaptable. This industry moves fast, and versatility is key. Build your network genuinely, respect the culture, and don’t be afraid to learn from others — from legends to newcomers. Also, patience and persistence win the race. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.

What are your plans for the rest of the year and beyond?

We’re gearing up to drop some exciting new singles and EPs, and our focus is on touring and connecting with fans worldwide. We want to bring the Twin Frequency experience to as many dance floors as possible, pushing boundaries with live shows and collaborations. We’re also very open to working with fresh, up-and-coming artists—helping to break new talent into the scene while nurturing and maintaining strong working relationships with artists already in our pipeline. This includes established names such as Mr.Traumatik, CRC (Conscious Rapper Community), Hannah May, MRE, Big Tobz, Abi Flynn, Katy Davis, Marcel, and many more. Beyond that, we’re continuously exploring new sounds and expanding our footprint in production and artist development.
