From sneaking into Pacha at 15 to founding one of the most promising new labels in melodic techno, Costax is an artist driven by vision and shaped by a love of the dancefloor.
In just under two years, Costax’s Dioscuri Records has landed multiple Beatport chart spots, earned support from scene heavyweights, and hosted standout showcases in Amsterdam and London. Influenced by legends like Carl Cox and Erick Morillo, he’s carved a distinct sound blending Melodic Techno, Progressive House, and more. In this Q&A, Costax opens up about the thrill of early clubbing experiences, getting remixed by Timo Maas, and why taking control of your own releases can be a game-changer — with a few words on working with MN2S along the way.
How did you get into music originally?
I was lucky to be in Ibiza on holiday when I was just 13. By 15, I had already been to Amnesia and Pacha for the first time. I grew up listening to legends like Erick Morillo, Carl Cox, David Guetta, Timo Maas, and others in the early 2000s. I’ve always been into a wide range of genres, and over time, that variety has really shaped my musical style.
How long has your label been in operation?
I launched Dioscuri Records in August 2023, so not even two years ago. We’ve had 8 releases so far, hit the Melodic Techno and Progressive House Beatport Top 100 multiple times, and even got featured on Beatport’s Best Melodic Techno chart. We’ve had amazing support from big names in the scene and hosted 3 successful label showcases, at ADE 2024 in Amsterdam, and in London at B Club and Gallery in 2025. A highlight was definitely having my friend and legend Timo Maas remix Stay, one of our latest releases. I’m really happy with what we’ve achieved so far, but there’s still so much more to come.

Tell us about your first release – what was special about that one?
That first release marked the beginning of a journey. The excitement, the unknown, it was all new. Starting your own label shifts your mindset. You’re no longer just waiting around for labels to sign your music, you start thinking about your vision, what you want to share with the world. I love that creative freedom.
Tell us about the latest record you’ve released.
Left or Right, out on June 6th, really represents me as an artist. It’s a journey, deep, dark, energetic, with a strong vocal that doesn’t overpower the track but still leaves its mark.

Could you sum up your label’s philosophy and creative vision?
I like to explore different genres, blend them together, and push boundaries to create something fresh. Whether it’s Melodic Techno, Progressive, Techno, or Tech House, I don’t like to box myself in. For me, it’s all about energy, sound quality, and depth. That’s what I care about, both as a producer and a listener.
What advice would you give to anyone thinking of setting up their own imprint?
Being your own boss is tough, but it’s one of the best things you can do. Don’t be scared to take the leap. Waiting on others isn’t a winning strategy.
What are your plans for the rest of the year and beyond?
More Dioscuri events, more gigs, and more releases coming in 2025. And I’m working on some big international tours for 2026.
What have you enjoyed about working with MN2S?
The prestige of your brand definitely brings value to both a label and an artist. But what really stood out for me is your team’s availability and kindness, that’s not something you always expect from a big company like MN2S, and I really appreciate it.
