Wyclef Jean releases Carnival III | News | MN2S

Wyclef Jean has released the long-awaited eighth studio album, Carnival III: The Fall and Rise of a Refugee.

Carnival III is the former Fugee’s first studio full-length in 16 years, his last being From the Hut, to the Projects, to the Mansion from 2009. Wyclef has been busy in the intervening years, though, releasing the much-hyped J’ouvert EP this February, which itself followed the satirical ‘If I Was President’ video collaboration with Funny or Die in late 2016.

The new album boasts guest appearances from the likes of Emeli Sande, Lunchmoney Lewis, and T-BABY. The songs encompass a broad range of tones, from the rap swagger of the opening track to the subdued sensitivity of ‘Borrowed Time’, and a modern tribute to Afrobeat icon Fela Kuti on the eponymous song.

Wyclef has played several major gigs in the US ahead of Carnival III’s release, including solo shows in Louisiana and Georgia, and festivals such as Kaya Fest, which featured fellow Fugee alumnus Ms Lauryn Hill on the bill.

Fans of Wyclef Jean will no doubt find something to love on Carnival III.

Book Wyclef Jean now to bring the Carnival III performer to your venue.
