Dat Brass return with new live EP 'Scratch Dat' | MN2S

‘Scratch Dat’ is out now.

Building on the phenomenal success of their 2018 breakout LP, Dat Brass return with a heavy-duty EP featuring their biggest line-up to date: two DJs, two drummers, three MCs and their unbelievable eight-piece brass band.

Though the nine gifted musicians that make up eclectic brass outfit Dat Brass come from a jazz-focused background, it’s the bumping beats and in-your-face attitude of old-school hip-hop that gets them fired up. Their latest live EP is a culmination of their collective influences that features improvised solos, riotous brass licks, and incendiary lyricism – and of course, the raucous tones of an eight-piece brass band.

‘Scratch Dat’ is a hardcore hip-hop record backed up by glitched-up electronics and unrivalled instrumentalism. Complex flows, incisive lyrics and dizzying rhyme schemes ride on top of an unmistakably riotous brass sound, resulting in something truly unique that speaks to hip-hop heads, jazz fans and party people alike.
