Carl Froch, MBE is a former British professional boxer who has accumulated numerous titles and accolades over the course his lengthy and highly successful career. Nicknamed the ‘Cobra’, Froch is known for his stamina and relentless aggression and is famous for his exceptionally hard chin. He is widely considered as the best pound for pound boxer in Britain. Froch is available for bookings through MN2S Talent Agency.

In his youth, Froch wanted to become a footballer rather than a boxer, and set his sights on his local football team, Nottingham Forest. However, he eventually settled on boxing and began training at the Phoenix ABC in Nottingham, kicking off his amateur career with a series of victories between 1999 and 2001. Froch took home two ABA Middleweight titles as well as the bronze at the 2001 World Amateur Boxing Championship.

Following these successful fights, Froch turned professional on March 2002 and marked the transition with a match against fellow Brit, Michael Pinnock. Froch would spend the rest of that year going up against other British boxing talents – Ojay Abrahams, Darren Covell, Paul Bronson and Mike Duffield – winning every match.

Froch won the English Super Middleweight title when he fought British boxer, Alan Page, in 2003 and the following year, in his home town of Nottingham, he also took home the Commonwealth super middleweight title, beating Ghanaian boxer Charles Adamu. He retained this title against Canadian Mark Woolnaugh and Brit Damon Hague and, in the following years, frequently retained both the British and the Commonwealth Super Middleweight titles.

In 2008 Froch won the vacant WBC Super Middleweight title after an exhaustive 12 round fight against Canadian boxer, Jean Pascal, which left him with a perforated eardrum and a cracked rib. Despite personal injury, Froch and Pascal became good friends following the fight.

Froch participated in the Super Six World Boxing Classic alongside five other boxers: Andre Dirrell, Mikkel Kessler, Arthur Abraham, Jermain Taylor and Andre War, making it to the final only to lose to Andre Ward.

In 2012 Froch fought Lucian Bute in a match billed as “No Easy Way Out”. Bute was the bookie’s favourite to win but it was Froch who took victory in the fifth round, becoming the new IBF Super Middleweight champion and a three time world champion. The same year he was named as the “Fighter of the Year” by BoxRec.

In 2013 Froch fought Danish boxer Mikkel Kessler, a previous opponent from Froch’s participation in the Super Six World Boxing Classic, and won. Following his victory he suggested that he would also like to go up against Andre Ward, the opponent who had beaten him in the final of the Super Six World Boxing Classic tournament.

That same year Froch entered into a controversial match with George Groves. The two-part saga saw Froch and Groves fight for the first time in November, with Froch’s victory defending his IBF and WBA middleweight titles. However, there was a loud cry for a rematch from fans as many felt the referee had brought the fight to a premature end, something that turned out to be favourable for Froch.

In early 2014, IBF ordered a rematch between the two, putting a clock of 90 days on the event, after which point Froch would forfeit his IBF title. It was soon announced that in May of that year Froch would take on Groves once again. Avid interest engulfed the event and the tens of thousands of tickets sold out within the hour – earning the accolade of biggest ever attendance for a boxing match in the U.K. since WW2. Froch performed well from the start, but there was no clear winner until he cornered Groves and delivered a right hook that sent his opponent to sleep. A BBC commentator described the right hand as “The best punch you will ever see in a British boxing ring”.

Alongside his stellar career, Carl Froch is available for public appearances and brand opportunities. Please contact MN2S Talent Agency to enquire about Carl Froch.
