Director of Rugby at the Newcastle Falcons and former player Dean Richards has led the club to its first-ever Premiership play-off finish and signed a new three-year deal with the side.
The 54-year old is a firm favourite here at top talent agency MN2S. He joined the Newcastle Falcons for the 2012-2013 and led the faltering club back to the top flight in his first season. After an auspicious start, he has led the club too much greater success than it has seen in many years.
In his time with the club, he has seen it take on a European semi-final and in successive years, domestic results have improved dramatically. The club finished 8th in the Aviva Premiership last year, which was its best finish in 11 years and the most wins it had had in 15.
To have led the team to its first-ever Premiership play-off is a result few could have expected when he took the helm in 2012 – but one which owners and fans alike are understandably delighted by.

Richards had a long playing career before making the leap to management, domestically with the Leicester Tigers and internationally with England and the British and Irish Lions. He has plenty of form with success, after captaining Leicester Tigers for four years and leading them to their first Heineken Cup Final in 1997.
One of the top players in his position in the world during the 1990s, he won 48 caps for England and played in three Rugby World Cups, in 1987, 1991 and 1995.
After leaving the game as a player, Dean Richards coached his old team, Leicester Tigers, for around six years. This was followed by stints with Grenoble and Harlequins before he was named Director of Rugby for the Falcons in 2012.
