On August 9th Henry Olonga, Zimbabwean cricket player, took the time to head down to Thetford cricket club to coach the under 13s. After a training and tips session from the international level cricketer, he took the role of the umpire for a quick match.
After a short interval he returned to the pitch to take part in a charity game between Thetford and Specsavers. He played for both sides, batting for one and bowling for the other.
After another short break and a charity cake sale in aid of East Anglia Children’s Hospices, Henry Olonga decided to share another side of his talent. He took to the stage to demonstrate his singing ability.
Andy Gray, Thetford Cricket Club’s youth coordinator, commented that Mr Olonga’s visit had a really positive impact with the under 13s team, who were excited by his visit to the club.
