MN2S artist Scorcher has launched a charity campaign for The Stephen Lawrence Trust through new crowdfunding platform Mybusks.com.
Mybusks.com is a new site that encourages street entertainers to upload videos of themselves performing. The idea is that the performances are unplugged as if you were witnessing someone busking on the street. The available categories represent a range of street performance types including acting, beatboxing, dancing, instrumental performance, poetry, rapping and singing.
As with street busking donations are encouraged, although in this context the performer has the option to donate all proceedings to a charity of their choosing.
Scorcher: Charitable Man
Scorcher’s video is a short freestyle showcasing his vocal talent alongside a guitarist giving a laid back vibe to the piece.
Scorcher’s chosen charity is The Stephen Lawrence Trust set up to “support aspiring architects and young people wishing to pursue careers in wider professions by providing a programme of bursaries and access to housing and architectural work opportunity”
At the time of writing the campaign had raised over £300 which is 60% of the intended goal. Currently it is the most successful upload the site has to offer, no doubt as a result of Scorcher’s status in the media.
