Cheat Codes is an American electronic music DJ trio formed in Los Angeles, California, in 2014. The group comprises KEVI (Kevin Ford / Prince$$ Rosie), Trevor Dahl, and Matthew Russell. Their early career saw them producing and releasing music independently, focusing on a strategy of consistent releases and self-management. This allowed them to develop a versatile sound that blends EDM, pop, and hip-hop influences. The group’s name embodies their philosophy of pursuing one’s passions and finding creative solutions, driven by the belief that anything is possible. Their early dedication to self-production allowed for a rapid output of singles, with initial tracks like “Visions” and “Adventure” quickly gaining traction on Hype Machine.

The trio achieved significant international recognition with their 2016 single “Sex,” a collaboration with Kris Kross Amsterdam, which sampled Salt-N-Pepa’s “Let’s Talk About Sex” and accumulated over 300 million streams. This success was followed by “Let Me Hold You (Turn Me On)” with Dante Klein in the same year, sampling Kevin Lyttle’s original and garnering over 100 million streams. In 2017, their collaboration with Demi Lovato, “No Promises,” further solidified their status, peaking within the Top 40 in the US, UK, and Australia and achieving Platinum certification by the RIAA. Their career progression included tours with acts like The Chainsmokers and signing with 300 Entertainment in 2016. They continued to expand their collaborative efforts, releasing “Feels Great” with Fetty Wap and CVBZ in 2017, and working with artists across various genres.

In recent years, Cheat Codes have continued to diversify their discography, releasing multiple EPs such as “Level 1” (2018) and “Level 2” (2019), and embarking on their debut studio album series “Hellraisers,” which includes “Pt. 1” (2021), “Pt. 2” (2021), and “Pt. 3” (2022). Their ability to work with a broad spectrum of artists, from Little Mix to Trippie Redd and blackbear, showcases their adaptability and commitment to evolving their sound. Notably, their track “Who’s Got Your Love?” with Daniel Blume, featured on the “Level 2” EP, amassed over four billion streams and reached number one on the dance charts, demonstrating their continued influence and appeal in the electronic music landscape.
