DJ Jazzy Jeff has established himself as a GRAMMY Award-winning DJ, music producer, and actor, known for his foundational contributions to hip-hop and extensive collaborations with notable artists. After winning the first Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance in 1989 for the hit single ‘Parents Just Don’t Understand,’ DJ Jazzy Jeff went on to solidify his status as a groundbreaking DJ and producer. Early in his career, he became recognized for co-popularizing the ‘transformer scratch’ technique, an innovative method that expanded the tonal range and rhythmic possibilities for DJs. In 1985, he formed the iconic hip-hop duo DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince with Will Smith, releasing their debut single, ‘Girls Ain’t Nothing but Trouble,’ in 1986.

He reunited with Will Smith for several high-profile European shows in 2017, including performances at the MTV Summerblast Music Festival in Croatia and the Livewire Festival in Blackpool.
