DJ, record producer and radio host Lele Sacchi is a worldwide electronic music phenomenon, and one of the leading figures in Italy’s house scene. Across an incredible career spanning 25 years, he has performed across the globe and has been named by La Repubblica as one of the 25 people to have helped to shape Milan over the past quarter century.
After presenting his own local radio show from the age of 15, Sacchi secured a residency at Milan’s new Tunnel nightclub in 1995, quickly making a name for himself with his cutting-edge sets. Throughout the late 1990s, he developed his career within the recording industry, working for Right Tempo, and then consulting for distributors White&Black. His debut compilation, The Next Tribes of House Music, was released in 1999 and launched him onto the international stage. He soon became the driving force behind JetLag at Milan’s Magazzini Generali, which featured such names as Baseman Jaxx, Chemical Brothers and Ricardo Villalobos. In the years since, he has played at dozens of the world’s top clubs including London’s Ministry of Sound, Ibiza’s Pacha, and New York’s Black Flamingo, as well as in cities including Dubai, Shanghai, Moscow, Tel Aviv, Chicago and Los Angeles.
As a producer, Sacchi has released work both under his own name and as Boogie Drama, on labels including 20:20 Vision, Get Physical, Soul Clap, and MoodMusic. A familiar figure on television and radio, he presented the documentary Italian Masters for NTS Radio, has been a judge on the Sky Uno talent show TOP DJ, and presents the regular Rai Radio 2 show In The Mix. He has created sound designs for brands including Armani Jeans, Nike, Levi’s and Toyota, taught on the history of dance music at the European Institute of Design, and published the book Club Confidential. Released on Snatch!, Sacchi’s single “New Soul Sensation” is currently taking the dance music community by storm and has received extensive airplay from Danny Howard on BBC Radio 1.
