Comprised of acclaimed producers Russell Small and James Wiltshire, the British house music duo Freemasons first achieved international recognition in 2005 with their transformative track ‘Love on My Mind.’ The single, which ingeniously blended elements from Jackie Moore’s ‘This Time Baby’ and Tina Turner’s ‘When the Heartache Is Over,’ became a significant nightclub success and reached number 11 on the UK charts. This breakthrough was swiftly followed in 2006 by ‘Watchin’,’ a powerful track that ascended to the number one spot on the US Hot Dance Club Play chart, alongside the impactful ‘Rain Down Love’ released in 2007. The duo’s remixing prowess also garnered significant industry attention, most notably their acclaimed remix of Beyoncé’s ‘Déjà Vu’ in 2006, which earned them a prestigious Grammy Award nomination. Building on their initial success, Freemasons continued to deliver high-profile remixes for artists including Kelly Rowland and Kylie Minogue, for whom they also co-produced ‘The One’ in 2007 before remixing it again in 2008.

The duo continued to release compelling singles, including ‘Believer’ in 2010, which was followed by their album ‘Shakedown 3’ in 2014, maintaining their strong presence in the electronic music scene. Following the release of ‘Shakedown 3’, Freemasons continued to explore new musical avenues with singles such as ‘Listen’ (2016) and ‘She’ (2016). After a period of focusing on individual creative pursuits, both producers have continued to make significant contributions to the music industry. Russell Small has since collaborated with Dino Psaras, releasing new music under the moniker DNO P, while James Wiltshire established F9 Audio, a prominent enterprise focusing on advanced audio production tools and sound design.
