Gabry Ponte

Gabriele “Gabry” Ponte was born on April 20, 1973, in Turin, Piedmont, Italy. His career in music began in 1993, and he gained international recognition in 1998 as a member of the group Eiffel 65. The group’s debut single, “Blue (Da Ba Dee),” topped worldwide charts and sold over 8 million copies. Their first album, “Europop,” achieved sales of another 4 million copies. In 2000, Eiffel 65 received the European Music Award for “Best Italian Artist In The World,” solidifying Ponte’s early success in the music industry.

Ponte continued to achieve significant milestones, including producing Italian hit singles such as “Geordie” in 2001, which earned a gold record for selling over 25,000 copies. Other notable productions from this period include “Got to Get” (2001), “Time to Rock” (2002), and “La Danza delle Streghe” (2003). His work extended to remixes of popular songs, with examples like Gianni Togni’s “Giulia” and O-Zone’s “Dragostea Din Tei” in 2003. In 2005, Ponte decided to pursue a solo career, separating from Eiffel 65. The following year, he established his record label, Dance and Love, which has since become a prominent independent dance label in Italy. He also collaborated with Artists such as Pitbull and Sophia del Carmen in 2012 for the single “Beat on My Drum,” which reached No. 11 on the US Hot Dance Club Songs chart. In 2014, his single “Buonanotte Giorno” became a summer hit in Italy, entering the top 10. That same year, he debuted on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs chart at No. 61, becoming the highest-ranked Italian DJ on the list.

More recently, Ponte’s collaborations have continued to generate success. In 2021, he released the singles “Thunder” with LUM!X and Prezioso, and “Can’t Get Over You” with Aloe Blacc. Both tracks achieved commercial success, with “Thunder” reaching top positions in several European charts and earning multiple certifications. In 2022, he contributed as a co-writer and producer to Austria’s Eurovision Song Contest entry, “Halo,” performed by Lumix and Pia Maria. His subsequent releases included collaborations with artists like Blasterjaxx, Justus, DJs From Mars, and Vini Vici, along with official remixes for Sigala, Sam Feldt, and David Guetta. In 2023, he released “Losing You – Spotify Singles,” a dedication to The Police’s “Every Breath You Take.” That year, he performed 90 shows across 11 countries for over 700,000 attendees. In 2025, Gabry Ponte represented San Marino in the Eurovision Song Contest with his song “Tutta l’Italia,” qualifying for the Grand Final and finishing 26th. His autobiography, “Dance & Love,” was released on June 3, 2025.
