Goldie Boutilier

Kristin Kathleen Boutilier, born on July 31, 1985, in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada, embarked on her music career at the age of 20, moving to Los Angeles. She was discovered by OneRepublic member Ryan Tedder and signed a recording contract with Interscope Records. Initial releases were under the aliases “My Name Is Kay” and later “Kay.” Her debut EP, “My Name Is Kay,” was released in 2011, followed by a full-length album of the same name in 2013. During this period, she gained moderate success, with her single “My Name Is Kay” charting on the Canadian Hot 100, peaking at No. 63. She also collaborated with artists such as Pusha T and featured on tracks by Tiësto and Steve Aoki.

After experiencing tensions with her label, Boutilier parted ways with Universal in 2015. She subsequently moved to Paris, France, where she reinvented herself under the name Goldilox, embracing new roles as a DJ and model. This period saw her sign with Sony Music imprint Insanity Records and release the EP “Skin” in 2016. In 2018, she independently released her second album, “Very Best,” which drew inspiration from disco music. Further demonstrating her versatility, she posed for the French edition of Playboy magazine, appearing on its September 2018 cover, and continued her modeling career with various high-profile brands.

In 2020, Boutilier adopted her birth name, Goldie Boutilier, as her stage name, signaling another artistic evolution. She continued to release new music, including the “Cowboy Gangster Politician” EP in 2022 and “Emerald Year” in 2023. Her fourth EP, “The Actress,” was released in 2024. She also announced her third album, “Goldie Boutilier Presents… Goldie Montana,” set for release in 2025. Boutilier has engaged in extensive touring, including her first headlining North American tour in 2024, and has supported notable artists such as Orville Peck and Katy Perry. Throughout her career, she has consistently evolved her sound and artistic identity.
