Honey Dijon

Grammy Award-winning artist Honey Dijon, known for her global performances and contributions to house music, became active as a producer around 2000, building on a career that began performing as a DJ in the 1990s. Early in her career, she was mentored by influential DJs and producers including Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, and Greenskeepers. Relocating to New York in the late 1990s, she was introduced to Maxi Records and Danny Tenaglia, performing across the city’s underground club circuit and at fashion shows. This period cultivated her distinctive, rambunctious DJ style, seamlessly blending golden-era disco, techno, and house.

In June 2022, she curated the opening club night of Grace Jones’ Meltdown festival at the Southbank Centre in London, showcasing artists such as Sippin’ T and Josey Rebelle. Her influence extends into media, where she was featured in the BBC documentary series “Disco: Soundtrack of a Revolution.” As a Black trans woman DJ in dance music, Honey Dijon leverages her platform to advocate for trans rights and awareness, navigating both the music and fashion industries with a powerful message of visibility and achievement. Her collaborations with major luxury brands, including Louis Vuitton and Dior, have seen her provide original soundtracks for their runway presentations, demonstrating significant impact in high fashion. This work underscores her dual impact as a globally recognized artist and a prominent advocate for marginalized communities.
