Quentin Lepoutre, known professionally as Myd, was born on March 30, 1987, in Croix, Hauts-de-France, France. He pursued his education in sound engineering at La Fémis in Paris from 2008 to 2011. During this time, he met Panteros666, Sam Tiba, and Canblaster, with whom he formed the electronic band Club Cheval. Myd’s early career involved releasing solo EPs on Marble Records, starting in 2011, and he began touring internationally as a DJ. He also gained recognition for his remix work for artists such as Yelle and Two Door Cinema Club.
In 2014, Myd co-composed Brodinski’s debut album, “Brava,” featuring artists like Slim Thug and ILOVEMAKONNEN. He then shifted focus to French rap, collaborating with Kore to produce tracks for artists such as SCH, Lacrim, and Alonzo, earning his first platinum disc in 2016. The same year, Club Cheval released their debut album, “Discipline,” after which Myd continued his solo career. In 2017, Myd composed the soundtrack for the French film “Bloody Milk,” receiving a nomination for Best Original Music at the 43rd César Awards and winning the “Valois de la musique” at the 10th Angoulême Francophone Film Festival. Following the closure of Bromance Records, Myd joined Ed Banger Records, releasing his debut EP “All Inclusive” with them in 2017.
Myd’s career progressed with various projects, including the 2018 single “Muchas” featuring Cola Boyy and producing a significant portion of French rapper Georgio’s album “XX5.” He released another EP, “Superdiscoteca,” in 2019 and navigated the COVID-19 pandemic by launching a popular online morning show called “CoMyd-19,” which Billboard recognized as the Best Live Stream. His debut album, “Born a Loser,” was released in 2021, featuring collaborations with Mac DeMarco and Bakar, and included singles like “Together We Stand” and “Moving Men.” A noteworthy project involved a collaboration with Radio Nova and its listeners to create the album’s 15th track, “Loverini,” featuring L’Impératrice.
