Intervals, led by guitarist Aaron Marshall, has evolved from a progressive metal project into a globally recognized instrumental rock entity, touring extensively and releasing charting albums. After quickly gaining traction with the independent release of two EPs, Intervals, led by guitarist Aaron Marshall, established itself as a leading progressive instrumental rock entity. The project debuted with ‘The Space Between’ in 2011, notably mixed and mastered by Adam ‘Nolly’ Getgood of Periphery. This was followed by the ‘In Time’ EP in 2012, which showcased guest soloists Olly Steele from Monuments and David Maxim Micic.
Following Semesky’s departure in late 2014, Marshall returned Intervals to its signature instrumental format. The project cemented its standing in the progressive instrumental scene with subsequent albums, ‘The Shape of Colour’ (2015) and ‘The Way Forward’ (2017), which included contributions from notable musicians such as Cameron McLellan and Travis Orbin. Intervals continued its progression with the release of ‘Circadian’ in 2020, an album that featured new collaborations and reintroduced 7-string guitar arrangements. Expanding its live presence, Intervals toured extensively in 2022 in support of Animals as Leaders for their Parrhesia album.
Following its release, Intervals embarked on a tour supporting Mammoth WVH for the second leg of their Mammoth II Tour in 2024, continuing to captivate audiences with its unique instrumental prowess. Throughout its history, Aaron Marshall has remained the core and sole official member, consistently delivering EPs, studio albums, and singles.
