Kenny Carpenter’s career began in the New York City nightlife scene. He started as a lighting technician at venues like Galaxy 21 and The Inferno in the 1970s, where he worked alongside Walter Gibbons. This early exposure to the club environment and sound systems laid the groundwork for his future in music. He progressed from lighting to DJing in smaller venues before securing a Saturday Night Residency at Studio 54. After Studio 54, he became the Saturday Night Resident DJ at Bond’s International Casino, a large-capacity venue with space for 5,000 people. His work during this period contributed to his rising profile and subsequent international performance opportunities.
Carpenter transitioned into music production and remixing, collaborating with various artists and working on new material. He has produced for Madonna, Kenny Bobien, Kathy Brown, Shaun Escoffery, and Wendy Lewis. Additionally, he has contributed to radio, gaining experience at WBLS in New York and making guest appearances on KISS FM in London. His discography includes numerous singles, EPs, and DJ mixes.
