LCD Soundsystem, formed in 2002, quickly established itself as a pioneering force in electronic rock, earning a Grammy Award nomination for Best Electronic/Dance Album in 2006 for their self-titled debut released in 2005. This initial success followed the 2004 single ‘Losing My Edge,’ which became an underground dance hit, setting the stage for the band’s acclaimed sound. Their debut album also saw the single ‘Daft Punk Is Playing at My House’ receive a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording in 2006, highlighting their immediate impact. The band, with core members James Murphy, Nancy Whang, and Pat Mahoney, released its early work on DFA Records, cementing their distinctive blend of electronic dance music and punk rock.

They contributed the track ‘New Body Rhumba’ to the soundtrack of the 2022 film ‘White Noise’ and provided backing vocals for Idles’ single ‘Dancer’ in 2023, showcasing their collaborative versatility. Looking ahead to 2024, the band debuted the track ‘X-Ray Eyes’ on NTS Radio and has announced they are actively recording their fifth studio album between their ongoing concert dates.
