Samuel Shepherd, known professionally as Floating Points, is a distinguished British electronic music producer, DJ, and musician whose innovative contributions have significantly shaped the contemporary music landscape. As the founder of Pluto Records and co-founder of Eglo Records, he has been instrumental in promoting a diverse range of artists, including his own acclaimed work. Shepherd’s career took a remarkable turn with the formation of the Floating Points Ensemble, a 16-piece group that garnered critical acclaim for their live performances. In 2015, he released his debut album, “Elaenia,” which received universal acclaim, evidenced by its impressive Metacritic score of 85.
