MKSHFT is an electronic music producer and DJ originating from London, UK, of Indian heritage. He is known for his distinct musical style, which fuses Electronic Dance Music (EDM) with traditional Indian sounds, alongside influences from comic books and video games. MKSHFT performs behind a mask, a deliberate choice to maintain anonymity and allow his music to be the primary focus, aligning with other DJs who adopt hidden identities. MKSHFT began his professional career by releasing remixes of classic Bollywood tracks in 2016. A notable collaboration occurred in 2018 with Indian singer Shilpa Rao on the track ‘Maahi.’ Subsequently, MKSHFT contributed production work to ‘Slowly Slowly,’ a joint effort between American rapper Pitbull and Indian singer-songwriter Guru Randhawa. This track achieved immediate global success, accumulating 38 million views within 24 hours of its release and later surpassing 150 million views. This project significantly expanded MKSHFT’s reach to an international audience.
