Victoria Louise Lott, known as Pixie Lott, was born on January 12, 1991, in Bromley, London. Her mother nicknamed her “Pixie” due to her small size as a baby. Lott began singing at a young age, attending Italia Conti Associates Saturday school at five and later receiving a scholarship to the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts. She appeared in a West End production of ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’ and on BBC One’s ‘Celebrate the Sound of Music’ as Louisa von Trapp at age 14. Her early exposure to performing arts shaped her career trajectory.
At 15, Lott signed with Island Def Jam Music Group, later moving to Mercury Records in the UK and Interscope Records in the US. She secured a publishing deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing in 2007, writing songs for artists like Alexandra Burke, Girls Can’t Catch, and Lisa Lois. Her debut single, “Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh),” released in June 2009, quickly reached number one on the UK Singles Chart and achieved international success. Her debut album, ‘Turn It Up,’ released in September 2009, debuted at number six on the UK Album Chart and went double-platinum by August 2010. This success led to her becoming the face of Nokia’s “Illuvial Pink Collection” and Casio’s Baby G watches. She further diversified her career with an acting debut in ‘Fred: The Movie’ in 2010, where she played Judy.
Lott’s second album, ‘Young Foolish Happy,’ released in 2011, featured collaborations with Stevie Wonder and John Legend, producing another UK number-one hit, “All About Tonight.” In 2014, her self-titled third album ‘Pixie Lott’ included the top ten single “Nasty.” She later transitioned to stage and television, starring as Holly Golightly in ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ in London’s West End in 2016 and serving as a coach on ‘The Voice Kids UK’ from 2017 to 2023. These roles underscore her versatility as an entertainer across multiple platforms.
