Claptone

Claptone is a German DJ and producer who has achieved global recognition for his contributions to house and tech house music, characterized by his signature golden mask and immersive ‘The Masquerade’ events. After emerging onto the electronic music scene around 2012, Claptone gained initial recognition with the release of ‘No Eyes’ featuring JAW in 2013, followed by originals including ‘Cream’, ‘Wrong’, and ‘Heartbeat’. His musical style, merging house, deep house, and tech house with soulful melodies and indie-pop elements, was showcased on his 2015 debut album, ‘Charmer’ (Different Recordings), featuring collaborations with Peter Bjorn and John and Nathan Nicholson. That same year, his remix of Gregory Porter’s ‘Liquid Spirit’ became a Beatport bestseller, contributing significantly to the original album’s success.

His consistent impact has been recognized with multiple accolades, including being voted the Highest House DJ in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs poll for five consecutive years (2016-2020), and winning the DJ Award for Best House DJ in both 2016 and 2017. Claptone recently established his own label, Golden Recordings, as a dedicated platform to celebrate house music and expand his global influence within the electronic music industry. The label has released singles like ‘The Big Easy’ and ‘Euphoria’, alongside music from other house artists. This venture underscores Claptone’s commitment to shaping the contemporary electronic music soundscape, cementing his legacy as an innovator and tastemaker in the genre.
