Lindstrom

Hans-Peter Lindstrøm was born on February 16, 1973, in Flekkefjord, Norway, and grew up in Stavanger. His early musical background included playing piano in a gospel choir and Hammond organ in a Deep Purple tribute band. In the late 1990s, he halted his musical pursuits to study literature at the University of Oslo. However, he soon returned to music, learning about dance music structure and purchasing a sampler. This led to a distinctive approach, as he came from a non-dance music background and played all instruments—guitars, bass, keyboards, drums, and percussion—on his recordings.

Lindstrøm’s career began to gain traction with his jazzy track “Granada.” In 2003, he established his own label, Feedelity Recordings, to maintain creative control over his work. Early releases included “the untitled EP,” which gained wider recognition after being featured on a DJ-Kicks compilation. A significant breakthrough came with the 12-inch single “I Feel Space,” which sold 17,000 copies and positioned him in the global dance music community. This success was followed by additional singles, eventually compiled into the critically acclaimed album “It’s A Feedelity Affair.” Over the years, he has continued to release music independently through Feedelity, often in collaboration with Smalltown Supersound.

His discography includes several solo albums such as “Where You Go I Go Too” (2008), “Six Cups of Rebel” (2012), “Smalhans” (2012), and most recently “Everyone Else Is a Stranger” (2023) and “Sirius Syntoms” (2025). Lindstrøm has also had extensive collaborations, notably with Prins Thomas, resulting in multiple albums like “Lindstrøm & Prins Thomas” (2005) and “II” (2009). He has also worked with singer Christabelle on the album “Real Life Is No Cool” (2010). His remix work is extensive, featuring interpretations for artists such as LCD Soundsystem, Roxy Music, Franz Ferdinand, and Foals. Lindstrøm has received significant recognition in Norway, winning the Spellemannprisen (Norwegian Grammy) four times for his albums “It’s a Feedelity Affair” (2006), “Where You Go I Go Too” (2008), and “Real Life Is No Cool” (2010 with Christabelle), and another in 2012.
