Robyn has evolved from a 90s pop-R&B artist into an influential electropop and synth-pop icon, known for her melancholic yet dance-oriented sound. After achieving U.S. breakthrough with two Billboard Hot 100 top 10 singles, ‘Do You Know (What It Takes)’ and ‘Show Me Love,’ from her 1995 debut album Robyn Is Here, Robyn went on to establish herself as an influential figure in pop music. Her professional career began with early vocal work on the 1989 animated film The Journey to Melonia and recording the theme song for Swedish television show Lilla Sportspegeln in 1991.
Her enduring hit, ‘Dancing On My Own,’ was recognized again in 2021, ranking #20 on Rolling Stone’s ‘The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.’ The same year, she received an Honorary Award from the Swedish Music Publishers Board. Looking ahead, Robyn is slated to participate in the Saturday Night Live 50th anniversary celebrations in 2025.
