Robert Dozier Davis III, known professionally as 24hrs, was born in Oakland, California. He began his artistic career in 2011, initially performing as Royce Rizzy. During this period, he released his first mixtape, “Bag Muzik,” under Lil Scrappy’s G$UP label. Subsequently, he signed with Jermaine Dupri’s So So Def Recordings. After these initial phases, he transitioned to the moniker 24hrs, also adopting a more R&B-influenced sound characterized by pitch-altered, bottom-heavy slow jams.
Under the 24hrs name, he debuted in 2016 with several SoundCloud uploads and the EP “Open,” released commercially through Private Club. His 2016 single “What You Like,” featuring Ty Dolla Sign and Wiz Khalifa, contributed to his rising recognition, becoming popular in early 2017 and receiving radio airplay. In 2017, he released the eight-track EP “Night Shift.” Throughout these years, 24hrs engaged in collaborations with various artists, including MadeinTYO, Ty Dolla Sign, G-Eazy, and Blackbear.
His career progression led to the release of his debut full-length album, “Houses on the Hill,” in November 2018. This album included executive production from Hit-Boy and Ty Dolla Sign, and featured guest appearances from artists such as Lil Pump, YG, Moneybagg Yo, Smokepurpp, and Dom Kennedy. In 2020, 24hrs released “12 AM in Atlanta 2” with DJ Drama, and in 2023, he released “Real Walker 2”, continuing his consistent output of music and collaborations.
