Aaron Lewis was born on April 13, 1972, in Rutland, Vermont. He spent his early childhood in Vermont and New Hampshire before moving to Longmeadow, Massachusetts, where he attended Longmeadow High School. Lewis co-founded the alternative metal band Staind in 1995, serving as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist. The band quickly gained recognition within the rock music scene, releasing eight studio albums and achieving significant commercial success, particularly in the early 2000s.
In 2010, Lewis began pursuing a solo career in country music, releasing his debut EP, ‘Town Line,’ in 2011. This marked a significant shift in his musical direction, embracing the genre he was introduced to by his grandfather. His first full-length solo album, ‘The Road,’ followed in 2012, featuring songs he predominantly wrote. He continued to release country albums, including ‘Sinner’ in 2016, ‘State I’m In’ in 2019, ‘Frayed at Both Ends’ in 2022, and ‘The Hill’ in 2024. Throughout his career, Lewis has also engaged in collaborations with other artists and bands, including Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Sevendust, and Cold. He is actively involved in philanthropy, notably establishing the non-profit organization It Takes a Community, which focuses on educational initiatives in his local area, such as reopening his daughters’ elementary school.
