Abdul Majeed Abdullah

Abdul Majeed Abdullah was born on August 3, 1962, in Jizan, Saudi Arabia. His musical career began after he was discovered by his mentor, Ibrahim Sultan, who brought him to Jeddah, where he started performing on a local radio station. This early exposure laid the groundwork for a successful career spanning decades, establishing him as one of the most prominent figures in Middle Eastern popular music. He is celebrated for his unique vocal range and his ability to blend traditional Arabic folk sounds with contemporary production, captivating audiences across the region and beyond.

Throughout his career, Abdul Majeed Abdullah has released numerous albums and singles, many of which have achieved widespread popularity. His discography includes notable albums such as “Rayeg” (2000), “Raheeb” (2001), “Ensan Aktar” (2006), and “Aalam Mowazi” (2021). He regularly performs at various local and international music festivals, showcasing his enduring appeal. In 2019, his contributions to music were recognized with a star on the Dubai Walk of Fame, marking a significant milestone in his illustrious journey.

In 2020, Abdul Majeed Abdullah participated in a major collaborative national song titled “Salam from Saudi Arabia,” alongside 12 other Saudi artistes, in partnership with Rotana Audio Visual and Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority (GEA). In the same year, his son, Mohamed Abdul Majeed Abdullah, launched his own musical career with the single “Ya Bakhty Fek.” Abdul Majeed Abdullah has made history by being the first Arab artist featured in Billboard’s inaugural Global No. 1s series, further cementing his status as a global music icon. His chart success includes singles like “Ash Salman” (2015), which reached number 3 on the KSA chart, and “Yabn Elawadem” (2021), which charted at number 12 in KSA and number 6 in MENA.
