Multi-platinum singer, songwriter and producer Al B. Sure! returns with a new CD release Honey I'm Home on Hidden Beach Recordings/Universal Music Group. In 2009, Brown signed with Hidden Beach Recordings. His first single for the label, "I Love It (Papi Aye, Aye, Aye)," entered the Radio & Records Urban AC chart at No. 33.

Albert Joseph Brown III, professionally known as Al B. Sure!, was born on June 4, 1968, in Boston and raised in Mount Vernon, New York. Brown demonstrated early athletic prowess as a star football quarterback at Mount Vernon High School, even rejecting an athletic scholarship from the University of Iowa to pursue a music career. His musical journey began to solidify in 1987 when Quincy Jones selected him as the first winner of the Sony Innovators Talent Search. This pivotal recognition led to collaborations with Jones on various projects, notably the platinum 1990 single “The Secret Garden (Sweet Seduction Suite)” from Jones’ album “Back on the Block,” where Brown performed alongside prominent artists like Barry White, El DeBarge, and James Ingram.
Brown’s debut album, “In Effect Mode,” released in 1988, achieved significant commercial success, selling over three million copies and holding the top spot on the Billboard R&B chart for seven consecutive weeks. This album featured hit singles “Nite and Day” which reached No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the R&B chart, and “Off on Your Own (Girl)” which also topped the R&B chart. His contributions earned him numerous Grammy and American Music Award nominations, including an AMA win for Best New R&B Artist, and a Soul Train Award for Best New Artist. Beyond his performing career, Brown became an influential figure in artist development, contributing as a writer and producer to launch the careers of artists such as Jodeci, Tevin Campbell, Faith Evans, Dave Hollister, and Case.
In 2009, Brown continued his musical output by signing with Hidden Beach Recordings and releasing the album “Honey, I’m Home.” He expanded his career into television, co-starring with Martin Lawrence in the 1991 pilot “Private Times” and co-executive producing an HBO Comedy Special for Jamie Foxx in 2000. Brown has also had a notable career in radio, hosting “The Secret Garden” for ABC Radio Network and a daily morning show on iHeart Radio. In 2019, he became the host of Urban One’s nationally syndicated “Love and R&B.” In 2023, he co-founded Health Equity in Transplantation with Al Sharpton, serving as Executive Chairman, to support underserved communities in organ rejection detection. In 2022, Brown navigated a serious health crisis involving renal failure, entering a coma and eventually receiving a liver transplant, from which he has been recovering.
