Alessandra Watle Mele was born on September 5, 2002, in Pietra Ligure, Savona, Italy. She spent her early years in Cisano sul Neva. At the age of twelve, she won the fifth edition of “VB Factor,” a local talent show in the Val Bormida region. Following her high school graduation in 2019, she relocated to Norway, initially residing with her maternal grandparents in Porsgrunn. Subsequently, she moved to Lillehammer to pursue studies at the Lillehammer Institute of Music Production and Industries (LIMPI).
In 2022, Alessandra participated in the seventh season of “The Voice – Norges beste stemme,” the Norwegian adaptation of “The Voice” franchise. She joined Espen Lind’s team following her Blind Audition and progressed through the competition, reaching the live shows. Her professional career took a significant turn in 2023 when she was announced as one of twenty-one artists competing in “Melodi Grand Prix 2023,” the Norwegian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023. Her entry, “Queen of Kings,” qualified from the first semi-final on January 14, 2023. She subsequently won the competition on February 4, 2023, securing her position as Norway’s representative.
Alessandra represented Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool, United Kingdom, where she performed “Queen of Kings.” She qualified for the Grand Final from the semi-final on May 9, 2023, and ultimately finished fifth in the final. In May 2024, she was initially announced as Norway’s spokesperson for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 final but later stepped down, with Ingvild Helljesen taking her place.
