Alonzo

Alonzo, a prominent figure in the French rap scene, has established himself with a career spanning over two decades, transitioning from a group member to a successful solo artist. After establishing himself as ‘Segnor Alonzo’ within the seminal Marseille-based hip-hop group Psy 4 de la Rime in 2002, Alonzo quickly became a prominent figure in the French rap scene. As a core member alongside Don Vincenzo, Soprano, and DJ Sya Styles, he contributed to the group’s acclaimed discography, including their debut album ‘Block Party’ in 2002, followed by ‘Enfants de la lune’ (2005), ‘Les cités d’or’ (2008), and ‘4eme dimension’ (2013). This foundational period saw Alonzo build a strong reputation before embarking on his solo journey.

Alonzo launched his highly successful solo career in 2009 with the album ‘Un dernier coup d’œil dans le rétroviseur.’ He followed this with ‘Les temps modernes’ in 2010 and the critically well-received ‘Amour, gloire & cité’ in 2012, which featured collaborations with notable artists such as Kenza Farah, Soprano, and L’Algérino. His momentum continued with ‘Règlement de comptes’ and ‘Capo del capi – Volume 1,’ both released in 2015. By 2016, ‘Règlement de comptes’ earned a gold certification, while his 2016 album ‘Avenue de Saint-Antoine,’ featuring the popular track ‘Binta,’ achieved double platinum status. This album also marked a significant milestone, strengthening a decade-long brand partnership with Puma.

II & III,’ which was certified gold, adding another significant achievement to his discography. His 2022 album, ‘Quartiers nord,’ featured high-profile collaborations with acclaimed artists like Ninho and Naps, reinforcing his position as a respected collaborator and influential voice. Alonzo’s extensive career is marked by numerous chart-topping singles and albums, underscoring his lasting impact and continued success in the French music scene.
