Ari Lasso

Ari Lasso, an Indonesian singer and songwriter, has achieved significant success both as a member of Dewa 19 and through his solo career, establishing himself as a notable figure in Indonesian music. After co-founding the Outsider Band, Ari Lasso quickly rose to prominence as a founding member and lead vocalist of Indonesian rock band Dewa 19, alongside Wawan Juniarso, Andra Junaidi, Ahmad Dhani, and Erwin Prasetya. The band’s critically acclaimed debut album, ‘Kangen,’ released in 1993, became an instant success, earning the prestigious Best Album of the Year award from BASF. Following his departure from Dewa 19 in 2001, Lasso launched a highly successful solo career, debuting with his first album, ‘Sendiri Dulu,’ in the same year, which quickly achieved multi-platinum status, selling over 500,000 copies.

In a testament to his profound resilience and dedication, Lasso publicly announced the successful completion of his treatment for Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) cancer in July 2022, signifying his return to full health and unwavering commitment to his craft.
