ASTR, the dynamic duo based in New York City, emerged in 2013 after a serendipitous meeting in a yoga class. Their shared passion for music, influenced by cinema noir and urban dreamscapes, led to the creation of a unique sound that blends electronic and R&B elements. Their debut single “Operate” was released through Tommy Boy Records, quickly establishing them as a fresh voice in the music scene.

In January 2014, ASTR released their first EP, “Varsity,” which was celebrated by *Spin* as one of the best albums of the year. This project showcased their innovative approach to music, combining haunting melodies with contemporary beats.
