Automatic is an American rock band from Los Angeles, formed in 2017, recognized for their post-punk and indie sound. After forming in Los Angeles in 2017, the rock band Automatic, comprised of Izzy Glaudini (synths, vocals), Halle Saxon (bass, vocals), and Lola Dompé (drums, vocals), quickly established their distinct post-punk and indie sound within the city’s vibrant DIY music scene. The trio signed with Stones Throw Records in June 2019, marking a significant milestone in their professional career. They followed this by releasing their highly anticipated debut album, Signal, on September 27, 2019.
Excess officially dropped on June 24, 2022, once again through Stones Throw. The album received positive reviews from prominent outlets including The New York Times and Stereogum for its insightful commentary on themes of corporate greed and the climate emergency. KCRW, Los Angeles’ #1 indie music station, further recognized its impact by naming Excess its #4 album of the year. Looking ahead, Automatic released the single ‘Is It Now?’ on June 16, 2025, foreshadowing their highly anticipated third album.
This was followed by an official announcement on July 22, 2025, confirming the new album, also titled Is It Now?, would be released on September 26, 2025. These upcoming projects continue to expand Automatic’s distinctive sound and thematic exploration, reinforcing their position as an innovative force in contemporary rock.
