Kunpimook Bhuwakul, known professionally as BamBam, was born on May 2, 1997, in Bangkok, Thailand. His interest in Korean culture and music began at a young age, inspired by his mother’s admiration for Rain. At the age of 10, he started formal dance and singing training, becoming part of the dance crew We Zaa Cool. His early achievements include winning the Thailand Rain Cover Dance Competition in 2007 and securing second place in the Thailand LG Entertainer Competition in 2010. These early accomplishments led him to pass the JYP World Tour Audition in Thailand when he was 13, subsequently relocating to South Korea to train as an idol.
BamBam trained under JYP Entertainment for approximately three and a half years. His pre-debut appearance on Mnet’s reality-survival program, WIN: Who Is Next, in 2013, showcased his talents alongside future GOT7 members and other notable K-pop figures. He officially debuted as a member of the boy band GOT7 on January 16, 2014, with their debut song “Girls Girls Girls.” Throughout his time with GOT7, BamBam expanded his artistic contributions, producing the lyric video for the group’s 2017 song “You Are” and independently directing and editing content for the group, such as “My Year 2018” and “Feel It, See It” in 2018 and 2019, respectively.
