Bebe & Cece Winans

BeBe & CeCe Winans, a Grammy-winning duo, made history as the first Gospel artists to have an album reach number one on the Billboard sales charts in 1988 with their Gold-certified LP, ‘Heaven.’ Prior to this groundbreaking success, Benjamin ‘BeBe’ Winans and Priscilla ‘CeCe’ Winans-Love began their public careers in 1982 as part of The PTL Singers on ‘The PTL Club’ Christian television show. They released their first duo album, Lord Lift Us Up, under PTL Records in 1984. Moving beyond The PTL Singers, the duo signed with Sparrow Records in 1987, releasing their self-titled mainstream debut album, BeBe & CeCe Winans. This album quickly gained commercial traction, featuring the R&B hit ‘I.O.U.

Me’ and earning them Grammy nominations, alongside Dove and Stellar Awards. That same year, CeCe Winans secured an individual Grammy Award for ‘Best Soul Gospel Performance, Female’ for her acclaimed song ‘For Always.’ Their career significantly advanced with the 1988 release of Heaven, which not only topped the Billboard sales charts but also produced three R&B hit singles, two of which reached number one. The album soared into the R&B Top Ten and peaked at No. 95 on the Pop Charts, achieving Gold certification.
