Bebe Stockwell

Bebe Stockwell, born in Boston, Massachusetts, began her musical journey at the age of six, taking lessons in drums, banjo, guitar, and piano with students from Berklee College of Music. This early exposure to various instruments fostered a deep interest in music, which she pursued through her education. During her senior year of high school, Stockwell applied to the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at NYU, leading her to relocate to New York City for her studies. Her time at NYU contributed to her development as an artist.

Stockwell gained recognition as one of BMI’s ‘artists on the rise,’ signaling her emerging presence in the music scene. Her debut single, “Love Me Back,” has accumulated over 4 million streams. Another notable release, “Minor Inconveniences,” was partially inspired by Bob Dylan’s music while she was recovering from a hangover, reflecting a blend of everyday experiences and musical influences in her songwriting. She continued her career progression by relocating to Los Angeles. Her song “Speak Too Soon” was developed during her time studying abroad in London, co-written with Hans Williams, and became one of her favored compositions.

Stockwell has performed at festivals such as Newport Folk Festival, describing it as a welcoming environment with folk artists, and participated in the Boston Calling Festival, which held personal significance due to her Boston upbringing. She has written with artists including Noah Kahan, Sam MacPherson, Charlie Burg, Francis Karel, Lilly Williams, Mikey Hart, Pom Pom, and Doug Schadt. She also opened for Sam Harris of X Ambassadors, Zinadalphia, and Anna Shoemaker. Stockwell released an EP in the spring following her interview with The Current, building on her earlier singles.
