Don Broco, an English rock band, formed in Bedford in 2008. The band consists of Rob Damiani (lead vocals), Simon Delaney (guitar), Tom Doyle (bass and programming), and Matt Donnelly (drums, lead and backing vocals). Their origins trace back to secondary school, where they first performed together. Following their studies at Nottingham University, they decided to formally establish the band. Initially adopting various names, the band eventually settled on Don Broco after guitarist Simon Delaney sustained a wrist injury in a football accident.
Don Broco began touring England in November 2008, playing at venues in cities such as Leeds, Birmingham, and Manchester. They made early festival appearances at Camden Crawl and Download Festival in 2009. The band released their EP, “Big Fat Smile,” on February 14, 2011, which was produced by Matt O’Grady and mixed by John Mitchell. In 2012, Don Broco signed with Search and Destroy Records, a joint venture between Raw Power Management and Sony Music. Their debut album, “Priorities,” was released on August 13, 2012, marking a significant step in their career. The band later supported prominent acts like Four Year Strong, You Me At Six, and The Used on their respective tours.
Over the years, Don Broco continued to build their discography and live presence. Their second album, “Automatic,” released on August 7, 2015, saw them experiment with a more pop-oriented sound, incorporating funk and new wave elements. In 2016, they signed with SharpTone Records and released their third album, “Technology,” on February 2, 2018, which featured a rockier sound. Their most recent album, “Amazing Things,” released on October 22, 2021, achieved their first No.1 position on the UK Album Charts. In 2023, the band independently released the standalone single “Birthday Party” and their first live album, “Live from the Royal Albert Hall,” in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust.
