Mustafa Ahmed Alobaidi, known professionally as Muzz (formerly Muzzy), was born on November 10, 1994, in Hampshire, United Kingdom. From an early age, Alobaidi developed an interest in computers, exploring coding, graphic art, and music. This foundational exposure led him to electronic music and subsequently to pursue a career as an electronic music producer. He draws inspiration from a diverse range of genres, including rock, metal, early dubstep, ambient, electro, video game music, film scores, orchestral music, and pop. Alobaidi began his music career without formal training in music theory, developing his melodic compositions and musical understanding primarily by ear, while using visual tools like analyzers and meters for engineering.
Muzz first gained significant attention in 2010 with the release of “X No Way Out” on UKF Dubstep. This track marked a turning point after previous submissions to UKF Music had been declined. His distinctive sound, which blends drum and bass with industrial rock elements and orchestral arrangements, has been influential within the electronic music scene. He has since consistently released music, predominantly through Monstercat, and has also worked with other labels such as UKF Music and Liquicity. Throughout his career, Muzz has expanded his discography with numerous singles and extended plays, showcasing his “Hybrid” sound that signifies emotions from brutalist attitudes to cinematic euphoria.
In 2020, Muzz released his debut full-length album, “The Promised Land”, and later, in 2022, followed with his second studio album, “The X Saga”, which features remixes of his own work and collaborations with other artists. He has performed at major festivals and events globally, including EDC Las Vegas and the Radio 1 Stage at Reading & Leeds Festival. His consistent output and unique style have solidified his position as a prominent figure in electronic music, earning him recognition for his production values and artistic vision.
