About

Brent Cobb was born on August 1, 1986, in Americus, Georgia, and grew up in Ellaville, Georgia. His introduction to music began early, making his vocal debut at the age of seven by performing Tim McGraw’s “Don’t Take the Girl” with his father’s band. As a teenager, Cobb led a local band named Mile Marker 5, which achieved some regional recognition and opened for larger acts. A significant turning point in his early career occurred when he met his cousin, Dave Cobb, a Los Angeles-based producer, at a family funeral. Brent provided Dave with a demo CD, which led to recording his debut album, “No Place Left to Leave,” in 2006 in Los Angeles. After returning to Georgia for a period, country artist Luke Bryan encouraged Cobb to move to Nashville. He relocated in 2008 and initially worked as a photo developer at Walgreens. Within a year, Cobb successfully secured a songwriting contract with Carnival Music Publishing, marking a pivotal step in his career progression.

Following his songwriting contract, Cobb became a prolific songwriter for various notable country artists. His credits include writing “Tailgate Blues” for Luke Bryan (2011), “Rockaway” for Kellie Pickler (2012), “Old Sh!t” for Miranda Lambert (2014), and “Don’t It” for Kenny Chesney. Throughout this period, he also released a self-titled EP in 2012 and began performing as an opening act for artists such as Blake Shelton and Sara Evans, performing approximately 120 dates annually. In 2016, his song “Down Home” was featured on Dave Cobb’s compilation album, “Southern Family,” alongside works by artists like Chris Stapleton and Miranda Lambert.

Cobb’s major-label debut, “Shine On Rainy Day,” was released on October 7, 2016, through Elektra Records imprint, Low Country Sound. This album reached number 17 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and number 5 on the Top Heatseekers chart. The album also earned him a 2018 Grammy Award nomination for Best Americana Album. His subsequent albums include “Providence Canyon” (2018), “Keep ‘Em on They Toes” (2020), “And Now Let’s Turn to Page…” (2022), and “Southern Star” (2023). Cobb has maintained an active touring schedule, joining Chris Stapleton’s All-American Road Show Tour and Luke Combs World Tour in 2023 as a special guest.
