Chloe Won, professionally known as Chloe Flower, was born on August 6, 1985, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Her musical journey began at the age of two when she started playing the piano. By the age of twelve, she was accepted into the Manhattan School of Music, and later continued her studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Flower’s early career was influenced by classical training, but her time in London led her to explore a broader musical landscape, incorporating elements from club remixes and DJ culture. This exploration gradually led her to embrace composition and production, initially driven by a desire to create arrangements that combined classical sensibilities with modern beats.
Her career gained significant momentum in the 2010s. In 2011, she opened the North American tour for Il Volo. She was featured on Nas’s album “Life Is Good” in 2012 and Celine Dion’s “Loved Me Back to Life” in 2013, performing on tracks for both artists. A pivotal moment occurred in 2019 when her performance with Cardi B at the GRAMMYs became a viral sensation, showcasing her unique style and a crystal piano from the Liberace Museum. This performance significantly elevated her public profile and led to her becoming an Official Steinway Artist that same year. In July 2021, Flower released her debut album, “Chloe Flower,” which reached No. 4 on the Classical Billboard Charts.
Beyond her musical achievements, Chloe Flower is a dedicated activist. She serves on the advisory board for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime’s Blue Heart campaign, combating human trafficking. She is also the youngest board member of The Liberace Foundation and actively champions music education and therapy. Her work in these areas has earned her accolades such as the Creative Impact Award from CAST LA in 2013 and The Last Girl’s Impact Award in 2022 for her efforts to end human trafficking.
