Payton Smith is an emerging talent in the country music scene, known for his exceptional skills as a singer-songwriter and guitarist. His professional journey took a significant turn when he performed at the CMA Fest, where he caught the attention of Scott Borchetta, CEO of Big Machine Label Group. This pivotal moment led to a record deal that has propelled Smith into the spotlight, allowing him to showcase his unique sound and storytelling ability.

After relocating to Nashville, Smith honed his craft by collaborating with renowned songwriters and producers, which resulted in a catalog of over 500 songs. His dedication paid off when he signed his first publishing agreement with Eclipse Music Group in 2018. Shortly thereafter, he performed at the BMI stage during CMA Fest, where his talent captivated Borchetta, leading to his signing with Big Machine. His self-titled debut EP, released in October 2019, quickly charted in the top 20 on Apple Music, marking a successful entry into the industry.

Smith’s single “Like I Knew You Would” was released to country radio in March 2020, further establishing his presence in the genre. Recognized by CMT as one of the 17 promising new artists to watch, he has shared stages with country legends like Brad Paisley and Lady Antebellum, and made his Grand Ole Opry debut in February 2020.
